Congratulations on the wonderful work you and your team did with your latest documentaries – I was incredibly moved and glad that they allowed me to see the other side of the coin.
I have always viewed the circumstances surrounding our daughter’s adoption from a mother’s perspective and think often of the parents on the other side of the world that probably think about her every day. It tugs at my heart and I was able to really relate to Sofia’s and Ricki’s mothers with their conflicted and sometimes guilty feelings. I hesitated coming to view these stories because I didn’t feel ready to acknowledge the feelings that my daughter may have some day. However, these girls from China face unusual challenges and as a responsible parent I have to pull my head out of the sand.

Thank you for visiting OPFCC in Oak Park, Illinois this weekend, and for the work you are doing. I look forward to showing my daughter your films when she is a little older. I like the straight documentary style of your films and the case in which the participants share their stories. You are a true artist!

| Thank you once again for coming back to Austin! Your documentaries are a must-see for our members. They are thought-provoking and provide a balanced perspective of the subject matter in a raw, unfiltered way that is unsettling at times, because they are so honest. And these, latest films provide an opportunity to see what if might be like to try and find our children’s birthparents—something many of us ponder. |

It was a great pleasure to meet you last weekend in Grand Junction. Thank you for bringing such wonderful stories to us. We adopted our daughter from China in 2002. She is 10 now and brings so much joy to our family. We have always told her how much her birth parents love her and how painful it must be for them to be without her. Your films showed the pain the birth parents live with FOREVER. It was heart wrenching to watch. Thank you for portraying their loss with such great emotion. I also wanted to thank you for the work you are doing for international adoption. What a great service you provide to all of us. |
